Instead of New Years Resolutions, Set S.M.A.R.T.E.R. Goals
Miscellaneous Written by: Tom_Venuto

Why do new year's resolutions usually fail? Why do you start with guns blazing on January 1st, but by February, you're losing motivation, cheating on your diet, skipping workouts, and slipping back into old patterns? John LaValle, a master trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) suggests that we should take a closer look at the meaning behind the word "Resolution".

Politically Incorrect Fat Loss Tips & Why Cardio Does Not Work
Diet & Nutrition Written by: Craig_Ballantyne

I was at a big event last week and was reminded how important it is to have strategies for this season of high-calorie parties and busy schedules. But I get ticked off by the tired old suggestions you find on the Internet or in magazines like Woman's World. Often the suggestions are lack any substance, because the writers don't want to imply you actually have to make a sacrifice to succeed. They make fat loss sound easy, as if all you had to do was park at the far end of the parking lot and you'd burn all the calories from 5 shortbread cookies.

Is Saturated Fat Evil, or Not So Bad After All?
Diet & Nutrition Written by: Mike_Geary

The myths, lies, and misconceptions about saturated fat and your health. I've written many times in the last couple years about the mistaken beliefs in society about saturated fat and the false perception in the media AND with MOST health professionals that saturated fat is bad for you.

Bodybuilding Success Blueprint Bi-Laws
Weight Training Written by: Eric_Broser

Sometimes I'm completely fascinated with how badly the average gym dweller craves big arms. Although I witness these guys training chest, back, shoulders and legs with formidable intensity and passion, they seem to jump to another level when they're attacking their arms. I often hear more yelling during a set of barbell curls than a set of squats. Strange but true.

The Mind in Muscular Development
Miscellaneous Written by: Eric_Broser

In my opinion, no dialogue on training would be complete without discussing the mind's role in the equation! It would be a true disservice to the readers of MD not to include what may be the most important element in your pursuit of reaching the outer limits of your genetic potential.

How an Entire Year Could Go By With No Results
Miscellaneous Written by: Tom_Venuto

Typical scenario: I've been going to the gym for the past year now, but I have only lost 2 pounds. I eat about 1800 calories a day and I do 3 cardio and 3 weight training sessions a week. I am 5 feet 5 inches and 128 lbs. I would like to be at 120 lbs. To lose 8 more lbs isn't a lot to ask, but I'm really frustrated. I've been VERY persistent, and I rarely cheat except once each weekend, but at this rate, it will take me another 4 years for me to reach my goal! Please help!
